Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and with all the beauties and romance of the celebration…comes the busy restaurants, busy cinemas and a lot of last minute preparations. We got your back! Why not give your better half a treat, by impressing them with our very own interpretation of a Brazilian classic dessert: brigadeiro.
BRIGADEIRO is a bite-size Brazilian chocolate sweet and is a national pride. It is not a bonbon, it is not a truffle. It’s something else. Its ingredients (the base is condensed milk instead of cream), preparing methods, taste, consistency and texture are different. Brigadeiro‘s traditional way of being presented is as a chocolaty ball covered with chocolate sprinkles, but in the past years, it can be found in a variety of flavours and toppings.
Our version has a delicious extra: Abelha Gold. Yes. If all the condensed milk and chocolate wasn’t enough, we added cachaça. It’s easy and it tastes like heaven. Trust us. Here is what you need to make the magic happens:
- 1 can of condensed milk
- 1 lime
- 1 table spoon of butter (no salt)
- 50 ml Abelha Cachaça Gold
- 100 g of chocolate sprinkles
- small cupcakes cups
Place the butter, the condensed milk and the chocolate on a pan and start cooking at low temperature. The secret is to keep stirring the mixture until it starts to reach the consistency of a paste. Once it gets to that stage, add the cachaça and stir for an extra 3 minutes.
Leave it to cool off for two hours or so. After it’s completely cold, roll them up with your hands into small balls and throw them on the chocolate sprinkle. Serve them on the cupcake cups and voilá! Ready to impress! You’ll thank us later.
